A Note About Me

When I have free time away from work and candles I am usually spending time with Bob, my husband and love of my life. We love being outdoors, traveling, going to shows in the city, discovering new places we have never heard of, going to numerous air shows, visiting with every animal that walks by and just in general enjoying each others company wherever we may be. We are also quite excited to be welcoming a new family member into our lives. We cannot wait to meet our first little baby in September!

I started making candles about 7 or 8 years ago. I had a small interest in it, nothing major, mostly just having fun and giving them away for birthdays and various occasions. It wasn’t until my friend introduced me to Etsy and much encouragement from Bob that I really thought I could make a great hobby out of it. With much research on the best products to use I have finally come up with the perfect combinations for great smelling, long lasting, clean burning Soy candles. So that brings us to today where I see candles being a passion of mine for many years to come.

I have over 250 fragrances to choose from. I enjoy making custom orders especially for weddings or any other occasions and having people pick their own scents because making candles to suit other people’s preferences is what I enjoy.

The best part about making candles is getting to know my customers and their likes / dislikes. Every scent smells different for every persons nose! Please feel free to message me with any questions you may have! I love hearing from you!!

  1. Hi, it’s great to have you onboard ModernPioneerMom.com! And since you’re a candle-making expert … I’m working on a post about making candles with kids for a fun project. Would you be available to look over my draft and see if I’ve got everything correct in my instructions before I publish it? I’m brand new at candle making, but it seems like lots of fun!

  2. Cara

Hi! I enjoyed reading about your candles. I had a quick question…what do you use to fragrance the candles? Are there any synthetic fragrances or phthalates used in your candles? Thanks so much!

    • Hi Cara! You will have to let me know which scents you are looking at and then I can tell you. Some of them are different.
